Picture
Time to venture out for some fun, excitement, and physical fitness. The outdoor activities should emphasize vigorous but safe exercises suitable for the climate in which you live.

Colder Climates: skiing, sledding, building a snowman, football or baseball in the snow, ice fishing, camping, ice skating, hiking (look for wildlife), caroling, hunting for food, chopping/collecting wood.

Warmer Climates: swimming, jogging, riding bikes, hiking (look for wildlife), camping, gardening, fishing, jumping rope, surfing, hopscotch, kite flying, bird watching, Hula Hoop, Frisbee.

Discuss the benefits of exercise with your family.

Discuss which muscles and organs are impacted based on the activity (e.g., jogging – leg muscles, arm muscles, expansion of lungs, improves cardiovascular functioning)

Remember, all family members should participate.
